Tenants Protection Service
When issues arise in a tenancy, it is good to address them as soon as possible. Doing this can help the tenant to keep their tenancy and hopefully avoid having to take more serious action such as mediation or a tenancy tribunal hearing.
Very often this can be done by just getting a better understanding of what your rights and responsibilities are as a tenant and what the landlord’s rights and responsibilities are.
We can help with tenancy issues such as:
• Difficulty paying rent
• Rent increase
• Termination of tenancy
• Wanting to end a tenancy
• Problems with flatmates, neighbours, or your landlord
• Lack of repairs/maintenance
• Possible breaches of Healthy Homes standards
• Support with mediation and Tenancy Tribunal hearings
• Providing you with information, support and advocacy
We are unable to help with finding a new tenancy.
If you would like to refer someone or you would like support yourself, please email or call the City Mission Tenants Protection Service.
